The Board of Trustees of Jordanian National Orchestra Association is Formed

AMMAN ----August 25, 2015 ---In a special ceremony attended by Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) announced the formation of the Board of Trustees under the honorary patronage of Her Majesty the Queen.

The first Board is comprised of ambassadors of countries with rich classic musical heritage so as to enrich Jordan orchestra with their artistic directives and technical cooperation. Members of the Board include the American Ambassador Ms. Alice Wells, Ambassador of France Ms. Caroline Daumas, Venezuelan Ambassador Mr. Fausto Fernandes Borge, Ambassador of Belgium Mr. Thomas Paklandet, Ambassador of Bulgaria Mr. Venelin  Dimitrov, Ambassador of the Netherlands Mr. Paul Van Den IJssel  and Ambassador of Italy Mr. Patricio Fundy, as well as Ambassador of Tunisia HE Ms. Afifa Mallah, Ambassador of  Germany HE Mr. Ralph Tarraf, and Ambassador of Greece HE Ms. Maria Louisa  Marinakis.

The Chairman also welcomed the prominent Jordanian members of the Board of Trustees known for their support for arts and creativity in our beloved country, who accepted the invitation to participate in leading and supporting the establishment and development process of the orchestra so as to bring it to the highest international standards. These members are Mr. Yousef Nader from Nader Group, Mr. Issam Al-Salfiti from Ittihad Bank, Mr. Ahmed Armoush from Armoush Group and Mr. Ahmed Hanandeh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZAIN Company as well as Ms. Hana Shaheen on behalf of King Hussein Foundation.

Jordan Orchestra was founded in 1995 and the chairman of its first Board of Directors then -who is the current chairman now - is Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh. Since its re-launch last year, he was entrusted by Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein to re- assume its chairmanship again.

Since last year’s new re-launch, the Orchestra organized several concerts including: "An Evening in Amman," patronized by Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein, "Evening in Caracas" in cooperation with the Venezuelan Embassy, "Christmas Gala Concert, "and "New Year's Concert"  in addition to the concert of singer Makkadi Nahhas, the "Jazz Concert" in cooperation with the Italian Embassy, "Jordan Rhythm: Modernity and Originality" concert in cooperation with the UNESCO to revive the traditional music, and "Strings  Concert”,  as well as a concert by "Carmina Burana" and very  recently a special concert entitled "Ma’an: the Past, the Present and the Future" conducted at the hall of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Cultural Center in the city of Ma’an.

Under the management of its current Italian director Sara Rella, JOrchestra has a very busy schedule for this year and next year with several concerts already planned including "The Voice of Cinema" concert with a selection of soundtracks from famous movies, "Vivaldi concert", “Heyden & Beethoven Concert" which will be a multi-track concert, and “Farewell to Heyden Symphony", in addition to “Christmas Gala Concert" and "Strings  Concert” as well as  "Easter Celebration" concert, "Latino Music Concert", and several other concerts including  the participation at  Jerash Festival.

Jordan Orchestra is currently working on developing its activities program through international relations as it will start cooperating with the Orchestra of Rome 3, in Rome and exchange programs with the Reverbera Music Festival in southern Italy.
